A quick summary:
Fitness helps to reduce stress, provides relief from physical pain, builds strength, and boosts mental wellbeing, to name a few… no wonder there’s a day dedicated to celebrating it!
As a bunch of fitness enthusiasts, we decided to turn National Fitness Day into a festival by partnering up with 5 of our top providers for a week of free live-streamed fitness events for all Heka members.
Fitness means something different to everyone, so we knew we had to pack the week full of fitness fun suitable for everyone, with everything from Mindful Meditation to a high-energy Bodyattack class!
Check out a few highlights of the week below..
Monday
We kicked off the week with a wellness workshop lead by Sarah Restall, Chief therapist from InsideOut. The workshop covered how to deal with any stress, uncertainty, or insecurity you may be facing in the current working climate.
Sarah highlighted ways to identify when you might be approaching burnout and offered preventative steps to avoid this, such as practicing mindfulness and making sure you maintain a work-life balance by adding structure to your day.

Tuesday
On Tuesday, certified nutritionist and sports scientist Jordan Chapman joined us to discuss the hot topic of fad diets and how some dietary choices can potentially harm your health.
The session covered how to identify fad diets, how to avoid them, and offered alternative options to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, such as eating a balanced diet, exercising, and avoiding processed foods.

Wednesday
On National Fitness Day we were joined by the incredible Sophia Lunt from Les Mills for a high-energy Body Attack class!
The sports-inspired cardio workout combined athletic aerobic movements with strength exercises, designed to improve muscle tone, build core strength, fitness, and flexibility.
Sophia's positive energy, infectious enthusiasm, and cracking playlist left us feeling on top of the world

Thursday
On Thursday our all-time fave yogi Kelly Brooks guided us through a revitalising yoga session.
The gentle yoga stretch targeted aches and pains we are all starting to feel working from home.
Through breathwork, stretching and more physical poses, yoga targets both mind and body stress making it a perfect form of relaxation.

Friday
We finished off a week of healthy happiness with a mindful meditation session led by Levitate's Ryan Nell.
Ryan’s calming voice helped us to transcend into a place of deep relaxation, allowing for a blissful Friday afternoon.
Meditation is an amazing way to support both your mental and physical health, something we believe everyone should try to work into their wellness routine.
