October to April is the busiest stretch of the renewal calendar, and December barely counts. For most small group plans, terms land eight weeks out, which means the groundwork for a good renewal really needs to start in early to mid October, not once terms are already in hand.
Clients feel the squeeze too. The feedback we hear most often is that there's never enough time to make an informed decision, that the conversation stays fixed on price, and that too few real options ever make it to the table. Securing a fair premium is still the job, but on its own it's no longer the whole answer clients are looking for.
Join us for a short session on what a stronger pre-renewal conversation can look like this year, the tools we've built to support it, and a first look at some of the data-led insight work we've been developing to help you bring more to that conversation than a renewal number.
Consultants and brokers advising clients through healthcare and benefits renewals this Q4, across both age-rated (SME) and experience-rated (corporate) books.
