Financial wellbeing this festive season: What to do when budgets are tight

|

The festive season brings a pile-up of costs, and the pressure doesn’t end when the holidays do. The bills, the credit card statements and the long wait for payday all land in January, and most people won’t say a word about it at work.

42% of UK parents say the festive season affects their mental health because of money stress. Yet only 10% of employees say their employer has asked whether they’d like support. And this year, plenty of employers can’t offer a bonus at all.

This session is for HR and People leaders who want to support their people this festive season, whatever their budget.

What you’ll learn:

  • Why a bonus or pay rise helps but doesn’t fix the January squeeze, and what your people need from you instead
  • The six ways employers can support financial wellbeing, and how to pick the two or three that fit your size and budget
  • What to say if you can’t give a bonus or pay rise this year, with a message you can adapt and send straight away
  • A realistic plan from now to January for a small People team, from listening first to checking back in
  • The three conversations to have with your leadership team, and how you’ll know your support is working
