Introducing Harry Barr, Sales and Partnerships Manager at Heka

A quick summary:

At Heka, we’re all about empowering organisations and employees to thrive through health-led benefits that make a real difference. We know that healthier teams are more productive, and that’s why we’re dedicated to offering tools and support that prioritise health and wellbeing. Our vision is to create a world where every employee feels empowered to take care of their health and has the resources they need to succeed not just at work, but in life too. None of this would be possible without the amazing people who make it all happen. We believe in building a positive, inclusive culture where innovation and teamwork are key, and we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can grow and succeed. Our team members are much more than just employees; they’re at the heart of Heka.

We're thrilled to introduce the amazing individuals behind Heka. Each team member brings unique strengths that help us make a meaningful difference. In this blog, we’re shining the spotlight on Harry Barr, our Sales and Partnerships Manager. Harry plays a vital role in welcoming new partners to the platform and connecting with clients about bringing Heka to their teams.

What’s your role at Heka?

As the Sales and Partnerships Manager at Heka, my role is all about building meaningful relationships. I’m responsible for onboarding new partners to the platform, ensuring they feel supported and set up for success from day one. I also spend a lot of time speaking with potential clients, helping them understand how Heka can benefit their teams and support employee wellbeing. It’s a dynamic role that lets me connect with a wide range of people, and I love being part of a mission-driven team making a real difference.

What excites you most about your role?

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping businesses tap into a new audience by joining Heka as partners. It’s always exciting to bring big-name brands onto the platform and make them available to our members - but what I really love is giving smaller, independent partners the opportunity to sell through Heka and watching them absolutely thrive. Seeing those businesses take off and grow within our community is incredibly fulfilling.

What’s the biggest challenge?

I’d say the biggest challenge is helping businesses truly understand the value that Heka can bring. One of the downsides of offering such a trailblazing benefit is that it can be unfamiliar territory - some companies are hesitant to take the leap simply because it’s different from the traditional benefits they’re used to. That said, I can be (politely) persistent, and more often than not, I’m able to get them to see the bigger picture and the real impact Heka can have on their team’s wellbeing.

Where do you see the future of employee wellbeing?

In a word? Heka. In a few more, I’d have to say it’s true flexibility and freedom to access products, services, and experiences that positively impact your health and wellbeing. Even with the staff at Heka where we’re all quite similar, all of our priorities when it comes to wellbeing are vastly different so why should we be subjected to the same three or four cookie cutter options? The sooner companies can realise this the better.

What is your favourite Heka benefit?

It’s no secret that I absolutely love running. A couple of years ago though this wasn’t the case but I realised I needed to sort my physical health out and took the plunge buying myself a month’s access to Runna. Two and a bit years later I’ve completed two half marathons and am eyeing a full marathon next year, all thanks to Runna which I buy a six month membership for every, well, six months!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Outside of work (and running), I’m a real film nut. When I’m not out catching up with friends, you’ll usually find me chipping away at an ever-growing watchlist and attempting - often unsuccessfully - to write a witty Letterboxd review. I’m also a big fan of diving deeper into film through podcasts, video essays, and the occasional book. Basically, if it’s about movies, I’m all in.

Do you have any interesting facts about yourself?

I usually mention that I played American Football at university, but I’ve probably worn that fact out over the years - so here’s a lesser-known one: I hold a Grade 3 in saxophone. I had lessons in my teens and somehow made it to that level, though I haven’t picked up the instrument in over 12 years… so the skill might be a little rusty now. Still, it’s a fun bit of trivia!
