Team Heka's Move for Movember: week 1

A quick summary:

In 2003 a group of bros founded Movember over a round of beers.

Since then they've been busy funding groundbreaking projects, helping to change the face of men's health all over the world.

What we've been up to

This November, Team Heka are taking part in the Move for Movember campaign by walking, running or cycling 60K, raising money for men's mental health, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Our amazing CEO Alex is taking his fundraising efforts to the next level with his “4 X 60 Move for Movember challenge”.

This challenge involves:

  • Week 1: Run a total 60k
  • Week 2: 60Km cycle, every day
  • Week 3: Row a total of 60Km
  • Week 4: Lift a total of 60,000Kg
  • 29th November: 2190 press-ups, for the 2190 men who are diagnosed with testicular cancer each year
  • 30th November: 47,500m row for the 47,500 men in the UK diagnosed with prostate cancer each year.

Progress so far...

We’ve completed our first week of moving for Movember. Muscles are aching and foam rollers are out in full force, but we’re ready for week 2.

Next week Alex will be taking on a 60km cycle every single day. Stay up to date with his progress on LinkedIn where he’ll be sharing daily updates.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s shared words of encouragement, to all the people joining in, and for the generous donations that have been made so far.

If you’d like to make a small donation, we would be very grateful. Not only will it make the early mornings and sweaty afternoons worth it, but it will also help to fund groundbreaking projects helping to change the face of men’s health.
